Running Daily: 11 a.m.
Corn combining demonstrations will start each day at 11 a.m. and run until the day's acres are worked. The tractors and other equipment will be operated by representatives from each manufacturer.
The corn combining order of equipment will be:
1. Combines made by OEM companies
2. Companies that make heads
3. Companies that make grain carts
Before and after the corn harvesting demos, Raven’s OMNiDRIVE™ system will take the field. These demos will feature a driverless grain cart, controlled by the combine operator.
Tiling Demonstrations
Run Daily: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Looking for a way to improve yields and overall profitability? Installing drainage tile can be a big investment but is one of the best improvements a farmer can make to their fields to achieve higher yields. From noon to 1 p.m. each day, the Illinois Land Improvement Contracts Association will present tiling demos. They will be providing the equipment and operators to install the tile. Most of the show site soil is naturally poorly or somewhat poorly drained. For the last 10 years during the shows, we’ve continued the tiling demo project, and this year over 30 acres is expected to be pattern-tiled during the show. If you’re thinking about investing in tiling, come watch the demos, directly north of the exhibit field.
Tillage Demonstrations
Run Daily: 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Tillage demonstrations will run from 2-3 p.m. daily during the show. You can except to see almost every brand of tractor and every type of tillage tool on the market. Vertical tillage tools make up a good percentage of what you’ll be seeing during the demos. First up, tillage tools that run at normal speed and then the tools that work best at higher speeds.
Field Notes:
Please follow staff instructions while attending the demonstrations and follow their safety rules by keeping a safe distance away from operating machinery.
Trams will be operating daily to and from the corn harvest and tillage demonstrations from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trams load on the north end of the show grounds marked on the maps.
